About Broad

Small College, Big University

Broad MBAs have the best of both worlds—easy access to the constant activity of a major national university combined with the individual attention of a small, highly ranked, personal MBA program.

The average enrollment in the full-time Broad MBA Program is 210 students; the average class size is 40. The size distinguishes our approach to management education. We can offer more practice through simulation labs, more direct contact with business leaders, more feedback and mentoring from faculty and staff. It provides a cohesive experience for our students. They will develop relationships with classmates that will form a professional and personal network for a lifetime.

Small is Better
Broad's size is a distinct advantage in the classroom. “Because I have 35 students in a class, I can be very accessible to them,” says Kathy Petroni, an accounting professor and winner of an outstanding teaching award from first-year students. Adds finance professor Naveen Khanna, also a teaching award-winner, “Smaller classes allow more interaction in the classrooms and much more learning at a deeper level. You can't get away with being quiet and being lost.”

In Kathy Petroni's 35-member introductory accounting class, each team makes a presentation about a recent topic in accounting. “I allow students to be creative,” says Petroni. “They learn the material and research the subject. They talk to me and find the most salient points. Then they stand up and share what they've learned with other students using their format of choice—from PowerPoint to video.”
