Career Growth

Career Planning

Career services at MSU are focused on more than getting that internship or first job. The staff helps build career-planning and job search skills necessary for a lifetime of professional success. The secret? Individual attention, the kind that's only possible in a small program. "Our strength is in our ability to work with candidates individually. Helping each candidate define what they want and develop realistic plans for achieving their goal is essential to finding satisfaction with their work following graduation." says CSC Director Jerry Fust.

The Right Tools
CSC staff members help students nurture their networks, work on resumes, prepare their 30-second "elevator pitch," develop interview skills and hone negotiating tactics. They also apply their knowledge to tailor exercises to fit a target company. The services that CSC provides throughout the two year process from the summer before students arrive through their graduation include the following:

Career Advising and Consulting
Career Workshop Series
Resume Review
MBA Interview Training
On-Campus Recruiting
MBA Career Exploration Conference
Researching companies
Interview preparation through alums
Corporate Presentations
Resume Referral/Position Postings
eRecruiting

“The Career Services Center at MSU is a fantastic resource. Even before I arrived on campus, I was contacted by their staff to begin working on my internship search. From resume building and interview tips to alumni contacts and the inside scoop on many of the recruiting corporations, the CSC staff is eager to help students as they strive to achieve their career goals.” Anna Jankowski, MBA 2008
