Student Life

For Spouses and Families

To ease academic and personal transitions, the school sponsors a bridge program for international students and S3 (Spartan Spouses and Significant Others) for families of MBA students. The campus offers a variety of child-care options, including sick and emergency drop-in care. Activities scheduled for the upcoming year include: picnics, football tailagates parties, hiking, canoeing, a trip to the zoo, holiday activities, a shopping trip, breakfast at a local maple syrup farm, a progressive dinner, and a performance at the nearby Boarshead theater in Lansing.

“Before I heard about the Broad S3 program, I was curious about how to stay involved with my significant other's MBA Career. After attending the first Welcome Dinner, though, I realized I was not alone. The S3 program introduced me to many students, as well as their spouses and significant others, that were in the same boat. Through the events, dinners, and networking opportunities S3 provided, we were both able to branch out while understanding the demands of the program on both the students and their support networks at home. The value I found in S3 last year lead me to want to contribute to supporting the next year of incoming students and spouses......which is why I chose to be one of this year's S3 Co-Directors. I would highly recommend involvement to all incoming students with spouses, families, and significant others.”
